1961 Chevrolet Impala – Classic Design with Modern Enhancements
The 1961 Chevrolet Impala is a representative model of early 1960s American automotive design, known for its blend of style, comfort, and performance. This example has undergone a complete restoration and currently shows 4,250 miles since completion, incorporating a variety of modern mechanical upgrades.
Exterior and Interior This Impala retains its iconic “bubbletop” roofline and distinctive design elements, including a chrome front grille, quad taillights, and triple rear taillight arrangement. Finished in Victory Red, the car is equipped with 18-inch Riddler multispoke chrome wheels and red Wilwood brake calipers. Chrome accents are visible throughout, including the polished door sills with "Body by FISHER" emblems.
The interior has been updated with seats sourced from a 2005 GTO, upholstered in a red and white color scheme with SS stitching. A vintage-style red and white steering wheel is paired with modern Dakota Digital gauges. Additional comfort features include a Vintage Air air conditioning system.
Engine and Performance Power comes from a 5.7-liter (350ci) Blueprint Vortec V8 engine rated at approximately 375 horsepower, mated to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is equipped with a Griffin aluminum radiator and power steering. Suspension upgrades include tubular upper and lower A-arms, along with 1.25-inch sway bars at the front and rear. The vehicle uses a 9-inch Ford positraction rear end and is currently fitted with Continental tires that have fewer than 2,000 miles.
This restored 1961 Chevrolet Impala integrates original styling with performance-focused enhancements, offering a balance between classic design and modern drivability.
